Title: Sailing On
Style: Blues
"What is the power of your ship?"
He came and asked of me.
I knew just how to answer him,
Yet I wanted him to see.
Upon my ship are many parts;
They work together well:
The engine, rudder, fuel and hull,
She's called the Silver Bell.
And we're sailing on
'Neath so many stars.
Where the waves are strong
And the course is long
We keep sailing on.
When the weather's poor
And we're far from shore
We bend our backs
We lift our heads
We keep sailing on.
The crew consists of all my friends;
No man can sail alone.
Without their help this boat would float
Like a heavy stone.
The portholes of my ship are clean
For others I must view.
We'll sound our horn as ships pass near;
They're charting courses too.
And we're sailing on
'Neath so many stars.
Where the waves are strong
And the course is long
We keep sailing on.
When the weather's poor
And we're far from shore
We bend our backs
We lift our heads
We keep sailing on.
Through darkness with the stars to guide
We sail the seas at night.
Through stormy skies the waves we ride.
Our cabin is sealed tight.
The powers of this ship are storng
My friends will quickly tell.
We'll not lose our dreams and faith
Nor the mighty Silver Bell.
And we're sailing on
'Neath so many stars.
Where the waves are strong
And the course is long
We keep sailing on.
When the weather's poor
And we're far from shore
We bend our backs
We lift our heads
We keep sailing on.
