Swimming in the Channel

[Verse 1]

Snake River rolls and flows

Right through our town,

St. Anthony, Idaho,

Come walk around.

The summer sun keeps beating down.

Our swimming hole is right in town.

The river splits. It flows around

Keefer Park where shade abounds.

[Instrument solo]

[verse 2]

The channel’s real. It’s not a dream

You'll see for sure a robust shore.

With bare feet, hot rocks sting.

Doesn’t matter. Light shoes we bring.

Everyday, we shout. we skip. we bound.

We seek this place like a happy hound.

[Prechorus]

The water’s deep.

For me, a blast.

Fun hours here,

We make them last.

[Chorus]

We jump

Stand tall

We fly

No clocks, no pay.

Just play all day.

We jump

Stand tall

We fly

No clocks, no pay.

Just play all day.

[Instrument solo]

[Verse 3]

The lava's rough we're walking or'

But River World we’re looking for.

Thirty feet beyond the pool

White water brings another jewel.

It tells us where to go.

White water does not last.

We swim on through

And feel the blast.

[Prechorus]

The water’s cold

The air is warm

We’re so alive

Each day, re-born

[chorus]

We jump

Stand tall

We fly

No clocks, no pay.

Just play all day.

We jump

Stand tall

We fly

No clocks, no pay.

Just play all day.

Come with a friend.

The river flows and bends

And worries it suspends

Yes, Mom, come and see.

That is where you’ll want to be.

The above picture shows the channel.
It is deep and allows one
to dive or jump in from the rocks.
Notice the calm water shown
at the bottom of the picture.

Just above this section,
notice the narrow flow
with some white water.
This white-water section
carries the swimmer along quickly
and pushes the swimmer
into the wider, deeper, calmer pool.

It's a perfect swimming spot
on the North Fork of the Snake River.
Keefer Park is higher
and to the left of the river.
Keefer Park is a small island.
