Truth to Freedom
Slept 'til noon, then played all day.
Nights were fun. Months passed away.
Took my turn at running wild.
Pot and beer. Court dates filed.
Spent time in jail. Freedom fell.
I was not free. Nothing went well.
Bad choices stole freedom’s light.
Jail life. An uphill fight.
It's no fun, no it's no fun.
While confined, I read a line
This line helped me find.
[chorus]
“Ye shall know the truth."
Can make you free.
oh wow. A new path for me.
“Ye shall know the truth."
Can make you free.
oh wow. A new path for me.
Studied bonds and stocks.
Wanted freedom. No more locks.
When released, felt the glee.
Learned some truth to make me free.
Knew what I wanted to be.
[instrumental solo]
College now. Study roads bend.
Studied hard. Each class attend.
Studied hard. Wanted truth.
Five years later, a golden goose.
Graduate school next an M B A.
Still stocks and bonds, For me a wand.
Turning time and truth into money.
Earning money. Sweet as honey.
Living truth makes days sunny.
[chorus]
“Ye shall know the truth."
Can make you free.
oh wow. A new path for me.
“Ye shall know the truth."
Can make you free.
oh wow. A new path for me.
More freedom truths I gladly learned.
Scriptural truth grew and burned.
Freedom led to marriage and family.
Now I love. They learn beside me.
Children learn beside me.
Find your truths to make you free.
Find your truth and feel the glee.
Oh, yes, go find your truth.
Truth's a good thing to see.
