Bear Stole Food
I did not think in mountains high
My food’s not safe. I’m here alone.
Yet scents do blow, and now I know.
I’m not alone among the stones.
From camp to lake, I made the stroll.
I cast my bait into the hole.
Fresh trout was now my worthy goal.
Had lots of fun with my new pole.
No trout was caught. It’s time to go.
While I fished on, bear had his fun.
He smashed and crashed. No need to run.
Stealthy and bold, grizzly’s new role
To sneak in camp, to steal my rolls.

[Chorus]
Bear lumbered close, my camp he chose,
Can’t blame the bear. He follows nose.
A likely spot the wise bear found.
But I need food. What will I do?
Ate my chicken, beans and pie too,
I shook my head and laughed a bit.
Stole my supper. Old bear’s got grit.
[guitar solo]
Now I’m not mad, bear’s hungry too.
Bear needs some food. Found some today.
Broke my cooler, but he won’t pay.
Took my muffins, but passed on coke,
That grizzly bear is not a joke.
[Chorus]
Bear lumbered close, my camp he chose,
Can’t blame the bear. He followed nose.
A likely spot the wise bear found.
But I need food. What will I do?
Ate my chicken, beans and pie too,
I shook my head and laughed a bit.
Stole my supper. Old bear’s got grit.
[Bridge]
Maybe tomorrow I’ll pack a lunch to share,
Something for me and something for the bear.
If he comes back knockin’ with that hungry stare,
I’ll just tip my hat and say, “I’ll feed you, bear.”
Cause a bear stole my supper, ripped my cooler too.
Left me hungry and wonderin’ what I’m gonna do.
He got my fried chicken, my beans and my pie,
The fish weren’t bitin’, but I got by.
Yeah, a bear stole my supper.
And I’ll tell you that ain’t no lie.
