Pioneers - A Message for You

We are all connected
to various historical developments of the past.
But few know their ancestor’s story.
That’s probably because most ancestors
failed to leave written records for us.

In this case, we just say,
“My dad came from Iowa and
my mom came from California.
They met at college, and that’s my story.”

We should never blame others
because we have no stories.
Perhaps at this moment, you have no interest
in leaving your life stories for your posterity.
That’s how most people behave.

My wife and I are fortunate
because we have access
to many of our ancestor’s stories.
As it turns out, totally by accident
for my wife and myself,
ALL of our people, all lines,
were early members
of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,
and our people all immigrated to Utah and Idaho
to help build new communities.
It has been a pleasure for us
to learn about our histories,
about who we are.

As you might expect,
we have feelings of love for our people.
Their stories enrich our lives.
